Competition for students in art education in Eastern and Central Europe
The purpose of the competition
On the occasion of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, the Hungarian Ministry for Foreign Affairs has announced a competition in the categories of poster and motion picture with the aim to draw the attention of future generations to the significance of social tolerance. The competition is co-ordinated by the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design which has invited well-known Central and Eastern European art education institutions to participate in the programme.
The subject of the competition
Tolerance is a fundamental component of democracy and a treasured value throughout Europe. The current competition has the objective of drawing the attention of the general public to the significance of human variety and its acceptance. Artworks entered in the competition are expected to use the tools of visual communication to capture the concept of tolerance in an expressive way and to reach younger as well as older generations.
There are no restrictions with regard to the content of
the posters and motion pictures. The objective is to promote the acceptance of
others by conveying a message which is accessible and appealing to audiences
from all walks of life. It is essential that the artworks should offer food for
thought, leave a lasting impression and use the tools of visual communication
to depict the concept of tolerance in a way that encourages discussion among
their audiences.
